Perguntas frequentes
What is the difference between an SCR power controller and a Solid State Relay (SSR)? Jul 24

An SSR is essentially an on/off switch (sometimes with basic proportional cycle control) while an SCR power controller is a complete closed-loop system. A controller typically includes:

  • Isolated analog and digital inputs (4–20 mA, 0–10 V, potentiometer, Modbus).
  • Adjustable control modes (voltage, current, power).
  • Soft-start, current limiting, and overload protection.
  • Heater break detection and comprehensive diagnostics.
  • Forced cooling management and fan monitoring.

Many of PIDMaxwell’s compact units bridge the gap by offering advanced control in a DIN-rail package, but a full-featured SCR power regulator provides process control far beyond simple SSR switching.
